The Journal is published by
the
Saffron Walden Historical Society and appears twice a year, in spring
and autumn, on sale for £2.50 in various local outlets. Those
requiring postal copies should contact the editor by email above. Back
numbers are available for most issues – for information
please
contact the Editor. Articles from the early issues from 2001 onwards
will be gradually added to this website.
Before sending
articles for
consideration, on any topic relating to the history of Saffron Walden
and its surrounding area, authors should discuss the article in the
first instance with the Editor. Articles can be any length up to about
5,000 words and typescripts should be accompanied with a copy on disk,
CD or by email attachment, in Word or Rich Text format. Please include
references to sources used, using the style of articles in this
journal. A style sheet is available on request. Illustrations should
have clear indications as to provenance and permission granted for use.
These should be sent in hard copy or on CD. Articles are accepted on
the understanding that, except by prior arrangement, they are
previously unpublished. Those wishing to photocopy articles should
obtain permission from the author via the Editor.
Statements in the
Journal reflect
the views of the authors, and not necessarily those of the editors or
publishers. Every effort is made to establish copyright of
illustrations, but the editors would be pleased to correct in a future
issue any errors or omissions of attribution.
