The Recorders of Uttlesford History

 

Version 5: Contains over 7900 transcribed records of Baptisms for the period March 1630 to March 1749. These records were taken from images of the Original Parish Registers held at the Essex Record Office (ERO). New versions of the database will be issued as further records are transcribed.

Introduction

Like many Family History Societies, the North West Essex (Saffron Walden) Branch of the Essex Society for Family History (ESFH) transcribes old records so that the data is available for researchers and family historians. One on-going project is the transcription of the Baptism Register of St Mary’s Saffron Walden.

The North West Essex Branch releases CDs through the ESFH from time to time. If you want to see SEAX page & reference numbers, day & month of baptisms or additional database categories, you will need to purchase a CD covering the period you are researching and this can be achieved by going here .

The Society wishes to thank the RUH website for hosting the transcription of the Baptism Register. RUH acknowledges with gratitude the sterling work of the Saffron Walden Branch of the ESFH for making the data available at no cost.
